At a glance, regular benzaldehyde could be used here and this whole reaction is the ammonium acetate substituted to cyclohexamine version. correct me if I’m wrong ?

Hello, there is no benzene. If you are talking about dimethoxybenzaldehyde, you cannot. In an opposite case, you won't get 2,5-DMA
 
I want make 2,5 dma and dob , but in the vidéo you use benzène. But can i replace by toluene or other solvant foe extract?
