Berlin777was 6l roundbottom flask helpful? or would you take bigger one. I ve got 3 necked round 2l, separators 1l and im thinking if its gonna be to be helpful to have 6l roundbottom, they are pretty cheap anyways

MMXI would definitely get bigger separator
The size of the flask depends on the batch you gonna cook. You can start with this small one but if you’re planning batches bigger than 500g even the 6L is too small.

For 100g BK4 I used 1L flask
500g 6L flask
Got 20L flask ready but I’m waiting for the stirring rod

Berlin777I have 2 l 3 neck flask, some condensers from used eq i bought, many small flasks etc under 1l, but from eq i bought for 1st synthesis except that flask i already have vacuum pump and buchners funnel 1l fi 125 and separators for 1l, equipment prepared for 100 g batches

MMXIf you have some spare funds I would get 2L separator instead of 1L. I struggled with 2L due to volume I had to handle. But it all depends on the BK4 batch you planning to cook

Berlin777I ve watched Marvin's 100g method and bought eq for that.
I have 2 or 3 separators, i bouyght for "almost free" a box with labo glassware there is many separators 500ml - 1l, lots of flask etc, so probably can work with all of them

MMXI haven't used any condenser yet but I know they're gonna be needed for other synthesis. Flasks under 1L are useless I would say.
But yeah to start with small volumes and learn how to handle BK4, how to wash etc it's ok. Have you already opened your BK4? Got any decent respirator mask?

Berlin777I dont have any regeants yet, some of my eq arrives this week. I have some respirator mask but its probnably not for chenmical use, it was a2 p3 or something like that, for painting
probably gonna still need to investigate in that way. I planned to do everything with a hands, month ago i bought eq then i was reading a forum about everything

i was inspired as hell on that. when i was 11 or so i loved chemistry but i left that way cuz i was scared it will finish to doing drugs, yet its more than 10 years later still I will do it

MMXIt's better to be equipped with aspirator mask handling bk4, once you open it you're gonna see what I mean. You got MA40% or MA HCl?

Berlin777oh I see, smell probably is a bad thing but in Marvin's tutorial he uess sodium biocarbonate to exhaust fumesfrom flask, i was thinking to use one time clothing as well. i have some fans and some carbon filters, but not sure if they will work

i dont have any ingridients yet, just only eq, but i ve found that promotion post so I am already in cotact with William

Berlin777do you know what parametres a mask should have ? probably it will be some signs or something, i ve serached on my hand but didnt get a lot of info. I dont know if "anti gas" is enough

3m 6057 are filters model for my maks, is it suitable for that? its called in description thats to work with gases of 0.1 (1000ppm) in air

MMXI do have 3M as well but I’m unsure what model, gonna take a look tomorrow but I know it’s great. If you’re buying 3M I recommend also buying spare harness. Mine just snapped recently in the middle of synthesis when I was putting my mask on

I alrteady have 3m mask beacsue earlier i needed it for somethin else, but filters are outdated for such thing ,i found that 6099 is the best, there is even MA described, clorides etc. I dont have full maks but i have gloves for eyes with protective gum


can you link that wet filtration, i mean i typed into search but cant see a topic
