Peg blocks pseudoephedrine from going to non polar with help of usually polysorbate 80.... those need to go first. For anyone trying i would figure their solubility and get rid of as much of them as possible before adding any base...

Hola Patton, gracias por aclararlo. Mi confusión vino del artículo de Erowid donde sugieren deshacerse del PEG remojando la mezcla inicial en Tolueno, así que empecé a preguntarme si algo del PEG se quedaría en el Tolueno.

Este es el proceso correcto a mi entender, por favor, hágamelo saber si cambia algo.

1. añadir solución alcalina a pH 13
2. extraer con Tolueno/otro no polar
3. desechar la capa de agua anterior, después quizás hacer algunos lavados con agua
4. Añadir un poco de agua limpia al disolvente no polar
5. Acidificar hasta pH 3 con HCl diluido
6. El Pseudo migrará a la fase acuosa como sal de Pseudo-HCl
7. El Ibuprofeno (ahora ácido) precipitará en la fase acuosa por lo que en teoría tenemos pseudo bastante limpio en el agua.
(8.) Quizás la limpieza final debería ser una extracción AB con éter aunque esto podría disminuir el rendimiento.

Lo siento, necesito aclarar algunos pasos.

1. añadir solución alcalina a pH 13.........añadir solución alcalina a qué? como remojar pastillas en agua alcalina? porque mis pastillas contienen mierda que se activa en agua.

3. desechar la vieja capa de agua, entonces tal vez hacer algunos lavados con agua?........good

Yes there has to be water present...if thats what your asking. I would selectively pull the peg and any other crap like that first otherwise you won't get freebase at all

Are these methods still good or have things changed. The problem inactives that is see in my pill in trying to extract is polyethylene glycol....polysorbate 80...and hypromellous... the rest of the stuff can be dealt with... there some wax also. Ill send a picture of the inactive ingredients. The pills are red 30mg film covered and it seems they dont have providone in them. The surfactant in there makes an absolute mess if you add base which I tried first the old normal way just to see what happens. I haven't tried doing this in awhile and the pills have definitely changed. Thanks if you can help.

Intenta simplemente triturar las pastillas hasta convertirlas en polvo y vierte agua fría sobre ellas. El HCl de efedrina debería disolverse. Luego filtra el precipitado insoluble y evapora el agua en un platillo, la efedrina HCl debería formar cristales.
Pero primero, determina el peso exacto del comprimido, esto te permitirá saber si hay otros ingredientes que no figuran en la composición. A continuación, elija un método de extracción.

I'm no chemist and it sounds like magic. How does running pse, pill gak, water mixture through a dionizing resin extract pse^+ ions. Seems like you would run out of surface area and how is the resin ionically charged in the first place?

Look up solid phase extraction. Don't use ion exchange... use filter designed specifically for your specific exipients to be removed.

Can someone help with this type of pill. Since I know it can't be dissolved in water. They told me to dissolve it in alcohol and then I'm not sure. Is it toluene or what?
