I use 5% solution so 285 ml H2O pure and 5% NaHCO3, but its after reaction

for reaction you use NaOH with water chilled then added with HCL methylamine.

you care about to have it less than 55, cant really exceed 60
it dpeensd what amount you add, what bath size u have flask size etc, many factors but improtant iis the not exceeding it - the far the better

u add 1:1 of remaining freebase in EA, ifu have 500 ml u add 500 ml. it depenjds how m,uch acid, usually per 100bk4 and 500 ml ea used in the 1st its 50-70 ml of 37 % pure HCL, depends u must measure it to be sure, but always measure "good chemist is an accurate chemist"

May I have a question about the ma.HCI part ? I’ve watched your post about adding ma.HCI directly into the mixture, and I also try it once recently, I have a problem when I dissolved the 2b4m in solvent, should I followed with NaOH + water and start stirring, then adding MA.HCI immediately with small portions? If I didn’t misunderstand it, the whole mixture would turn dark after adding NaOH water, it’s happening before any MA.HCI followed, because it was what happened during my synthesis, so am I did anything wrong ? Or it is normal ? Best regards
