Can I use cold ethyl acetate instead of cold acetone during the acidification process?
Then can I use cold ethyl acetate instead of cold acetone in the process of rinsing the crystals?
What can I use instead of acetone when making 4-MMC according to this article?

I added too much hydrobromic acid during the acidification process, and the pH suddenly dropped from 7 to 2. Is this product still edible?
