can I dissolve Methylamine HCl in methanol instead of Methylamine gas?

There are discussions about this on the forum. When you dissolve the methylamine hcl you must add stoichiometric amounts of NaOH to neutralize the hcl.
This will produce water and NaCl as a byproduct. Have a look at @btcboss2022 post on methamphetamine reduction with NaBH4 where he does this. I will test this soon and make a post about it too.
Where I leave the dissolved salt in solution but dry the methanol using MgSO4.

You can't, NaBH4 will react with water.

You can replace with aqueous methylamine 40%.

In this case, you need to mix methanol with aqueous methylamine and fill the mass with molecular sieves to absorb 60% H2O

I have difficulties with gassing. I used sulfuric acid and sodium chloride to generate the gas.. but I am not seeing crystals.. could anyone help me with this hcl problem

Hello. It depends on your reaction volume. Until the end of crystal formation. Are you sure that there is MDMA free base in the solution?

How did you get it? You can check boiling point, check it's density, pH. These measurements can give you indirect answer.
You can use both way
You can, take into account that it have to be the purest one.
Probably yes, you can substitute toluene by xylene. Do you mean them?
