I figured out a better way to convert the epoxide to the ketone: dissolve isosafrole epoxide in glacial acetic acid, while stirring at room temperature add a solution of GAA that has a few drops of sulfuric acid in it. There is an immediate color change indicating the conversion to the product. Add water and DCM, separate DCM/ketone and then wash with water a few times. Yield is very high. Much better than heating with dilute acid which causes destruction of methylene dioxide ring and thus low yields.

Loads of ways to it. It’s more off what’s available to the person that’s doing it we all have our own way around things due to lack of resources or chemicals ect for me in the uk it’s piperonal/nitroethane route

I cleary do it the hard way, but also ofcourse I use PMK powder, which first I have to change into oil. But making mdma my ways is :
step 1: mixing Pmk oil with methanol and monomethylamine ( leave it to could down -20 degree).
step 2: after cooling, adding little by little Sodium borohydride. NaBh4 will make the mixer heat back up quickly, I don't let the mixer heat up over 10 degree, I keep it under. So when the mixer is reaching 10 degree, I stop and put the mixer back into the freezer and continue after it cools down. this can take up to 6 hours until i can add more NaBh4. this process takes me 4 days sometimes.
step 3: after adding the needed NaBh4 to the mixer, now I can clean it mixer by adding H20 to get the clean oil out. than cook it till 130/140 degree so I know all the unwanted chemicals are out and only the clean oil is left over.
step 4 : collecting the oil and add acetone to it so adding hydrochloric acid to make the ph level around 5 or 6. than freeze everything until it is crystalized.
I never get white crystals they mostly come out beige/brownish
does anyone know how to do it better?
or at least make it more white?

Any estimates on total costs of equipment?
I have the PERFECT area, just need to set it up. How much do I need to worry about ventilation? My lab will be a floor down from living space..but I have a big door next to where the set up will be, I do have some douchebag neighbors very close so worried about smell. I'm also 'that guy' and want my residue and vapor coming out of my lab as clean for the environment as possible, any popular suggestions for filtration?
And finally... Where does that fancy PPE (mask) come from?!

look at the result...white and pure and he changed the route from safrole to isosafrole to achieve the result in a cheaper way ...for so many reason honestly this guy is legend
