Dear chemists, I have a question and I would like to ask anyone on this forum who can answer it, I have meth that has been mixed by an irresponsible person, I don't know what he mixed in there, it tastes spicy, is there a way to purify it again? I have tried re-cooking it with isoproalcohol, also washing it with cold acetone, but it makes me drunk like I've just drunk alcohol,,,,,,
No absolutely not you need methylamine to perform this reaction. If you want to use nitroethane you can use it with a Henry-reaction and benzaldehyde to get P2NP which can be reduced to normal amphetamine. Or you reduce P2NP and then oxidize it. Just be careful because chemicals like mercury can poison you and the environment, and gases like hydrogen are explosive.
You can get sulfuric acid often on amazon as a liquid way to lower the ph level for your pool,often even in countries with a strong regulation. For example if you buy the 12% sufuric acid allowed in the EU you can evaporate it to get 98% sulfuric acid. Just be careful of the fumes.

After filtering aluminium sludge can we take (ethanol+water+meth) solution directly to the steam purification and then separate meth by dcm and evaporat the dcm?
Or it's better to first separate it by dcm. evaporat the dcm then do a steam purification?

@G.Patton I done this method. Got some salt at then end. But has no effect after smoking!
I made some p2p by p2np. After purification I measured the boiling point and was around 214c.
Also made 40% aqueous methylamine.
Through the hg/al reaction. My ingredients was like bellow:
24 gr Al foil
0.3 gr hg(||) chloride
P2p 20 gr
Nacl 20 gr in 60 ml h2o
Pure ethanol 400 ml
Methylamine 58 ml
I kept the temperature between 40-50c
After 3 hours added 5 gr naoh in 15 ml h2o into the reaction flask. Stirred for another hour. And settled for 1 hour then filtered it. Add 100 ml dcm during filtration. And washed it with extra 200ml. Dried it with 35 gr na2so4. After evaporation dcm. 16 gr free base left.
Then I dissolved 11.5 gr L-tartaric acid in 23 ml water then added free base. After 24 hours filtered it. Discarded the solid and kept the liquid. After adding naoh. 6 gr free base left.
Added 15ml diethyl ether. Then introduced hcl gas and brought ph to around 5. Salt participated. I filtered it and washed it with dry cold acetone. After drying I smoked it. No effect. What's the issue? Where did I do wrong. Tnx
